According to the number of rams, it can be divided into: single ram blowout preventer, double ram blowout preventer, triple ram blowout preventer;

According to the function of the ram, it can be divided into: full-sealed ram blowout preventer, half-sealed ram blowout preventer, shear ram blowout preventer, variable diameter ram blowout preventer;

The ram blowout preventer is the use of hydraulic pressure to push the two rams with rubber cores on the sealing element from the left and right sides to the center of the wellbore to close the wellhead, which is called the ram blowout preventer.

Function of hydraulic ram blowout preventer:

(1) When there is no string in the well, the wellhead can be fully sealed with a fully sealed gate (also called a blind plate);

(2) When there is a pipe string in the well that needs to be cut and fully sealed and closed, the shear ram can be used to quickly cut the pipe string and fully seal and close;

(3) The ram of some hydraulic ram blowout preventers allows load-bearing and can be used to hang pipe strings;

(4) The shell of the hydraulic ram blowout preventer has side holes, which can be connected with pipelines to replace the liquid or blowout in the circulation well of the choke manifold.
